Geoff Neilson began his career with ANZ Banking Group in 1980, undertaking a range of senior roles over 18 years across retail banking, international and trade finance, commercial/business banking and corporate banking. His experience included a three-year international assignment with ANZ Grindlays Bank in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
In 2001, Geoff co-founded Carter Mayfair Securities, where he served as general manager – origination services. He played a key role in expanding the broker network and was instrumental in developing a successful Leasing and Asset Finance Division, as well as designing and sourcing a variety of commercial loan products.
In 2006, Geoff established Joslan Financial Services ATF Neilson Family Trust, opening offices in Epping, NSW. The firm broadened its scope beyond traditional property funding to include advisory services in trade finance, infrastructure transactions (both domestic and international) and structured finance solutions for complex property development projects.
Since 2011, Joslan Financial Services has operated from its central office in Gosford, NSW, where Geoff continues to lead the business as an independent mortgage and finance broker, leveraging over four decades of financial industry experience.

A significant part of his focus today is staying ahead of regulatory change while maintaining a seamless client experience. He tracks updates from regulators and lenders closely and works with his teams to adjust systems as needed.
“My approach to my role and my career has always been rooted in passion, focus, and a relentless pursuit of excellence,” he says. “I’ve never been driven solely by profit or business metrics. I believe in hiring great talent, trusting them, and pushing boundaries because innovation doesn’t come from playing it safe.”
His experience isn’t limited to Canada. Ibrahim has worked in the US and UAE, which shaped his global perspective and comfort with adapting to different markets. He thrives on risk, viewing setbacks as stepping stones to progress.
