Profile
Ayaan Ismail can speak to her clients about wealth creation from experience, because she has done it herself. “The single biggest achievement of my career has been applying the financial strategies I recommend to clients in my own life,” she says.
Using the knowledge she has built in the industry, Ismail has bought her own home and grown an investment property portfolio at a relatively young age, which she sees as proof that the strategies she believes in can deliver tangible results.
Ismail joined Infinity Group Australia in 2021 as a client concierge with no residential lending experience. She moved into broker support and was later promoted to broker and financial strategist in 2025. With each step built on the last, she credits a growth mindset and steady upskilling for turning an entry-level role into a career. “My overall attitude is simple: work hard, keep learning and always put the client’s best interests first,” she says.
Communication and genuine relationships sit at the core of how Ismail works. Finance can feel complex and overwhelming, so Ismail breaks strategies and lending solutions into language that is clear and simple, taking time to understand each client’s goals, motivations and concerns. Building that trust lets her offer more personalised advice, and clients know they can reach her at any stage, which she counts among the most rewarding parts of the role.
For the finance strategist, the job was never only about arranging a loan. Ismail starts by listening to understand where a client is trying to achieve in both the short and long term before shaping a tailored strategy around it.

“It’s very important to set an example and to not only inspire but mentor other females,” she adds.
In addition to her sharp marketing eye, the key to Phillips Topping’s success lies in her high-energy approach and positive attitude.

For my career overall, my attitude has been one of curiosity. The more you can learn, the better you’ll understand the business, and then the deeper your knowledge will become, making you a better team member.”

“Every client has unique goals, timelines and circumstances, and I take the responsibility of getting that outcome right seriously,” she adds. Ismail manages the pressure of her client’s big financial decisions by staying organised, keeping communication clear with them and referral partners, and remaining solution-focused even when unexpected arises. The Gold Coast mortgage broker also stays involved well beyond settlement, adapting the plan as circumstances change, because she genuinely cares where her clients end up.
Ismail has kept her practice deliberately broad, working with first home buyers, owner-occupiers, investors and high-net-worth clients alike. Every situation is different, and she finds it rewarding to tailor a strategy to each, an approach that has given her a well-rounded feel for the lending market and the flexibility to adapt to whatever a client needs.
New clients come to Ismail through Infinity Group Australia’s Masterclass and, increasingly, through referrals from people she has looked after well. She keeps them by being transparent and clear, making sure they understand their options and feel confident in the decisions they make.
The truest measure of Ismail’s work is when clients reach their goals and keep coming back as their circumstances evolve. For her, helping people achieve outcomes they once thought were out of reach is the sign of a job done well. “It’s never just about arranging a loan – it’s about understanding where my client wants to be in the future and helping them get there.”
