Zakee Sheriff did not plan on entering the mortgage industry, but he has risen to the top of it. A chance encounter with Infinity Group Australia co-founder Graeme Holm in 2018 drew him in from a background in sales, customer service and IT, with no mortgage knowledge to build on.
“I didn’t even know how to calculate interest,” he says of those early days.
Sheriff earned a Diploma in Finance and Mortgage Broking that year and built from the ground up. Within seven years, the FBAA had named him Australia’s No. 1 finance broker in 2024 and FBAA Broker of the Year Australia in 2025.
Now head of mortgage distribution at Infinity Group Australia and based in Norwest NSW, he has done it all on motivation and a determination to keep learning. “What underpins my work is a straightforward strength: understanding a client’s situation and creating solutions for it,” Sheriff says.
Sheriff specialises in residential lending, debt reduction and wealth creation, and his approach starts with a transparent conversation upfront to determine what a client needs, followed by a relevant plan of action to execute.

What he believes sets him apart as a mortgage broker in Norwest NSW is an ability to think differently and communicate complex ideas simply. Much of his client base comes through Graeme Holm’s Money Mentor Masterclass.
Before stepping up to lead national distribution in 2025, he spent his Infinity years as a finance strategist and team leader, amassing back-to-back recognition as a 5-Star Broker in 2025 and 2026, a place on the MPA Top 100 Brokers list in 2024 and 2025, a RateMyAgent National Top 20 ranking two years running, and 418 verified five-star reviews.
He also helped drive Infinity to a record-breaking September 2025, with $206 million settled in a single month. Through it all, Sheriff has stayed grounded. “It’s not about chasing money; it’s about asking myself how to become really good at this,” he says.
Sheriff is clear about what has carried him this far. “I’m very motivated and dedicated to my career and always had a focus on learning to be the best and increase my overall value to create a sustainable long-term career,” he says.
Having risen through the ranks himself, he now mentors the next generation of brokers. For all the recognition, his measure of success stays simple: clients who want to keep working with him, and the results that earn their loyalty.
